Wolf Creek Pass Closed due to Wildfire

West Fork Fire- Wolf Creek Pass
Currently, US 160 between mile post 158-176 on Wolf Creek Pass is closed due to poor visibility and smoke. While the fire has not reached the highway yet, it is very possible that it will by this evening or tomorrow morning. Detour route: Travelers on US 160 heading eastbound from Pagosa Springs will detour onto SH 84 to Chama,NM; then onto SH 17 from Chama to Conejos, CO; then US 285 from Conejos to Alamosa. This detour is a distance of 125 miles, as opposed to using US 160, which is 89 miles between Pagosa Springs and Alamosa. The additional 36 miles added by the detour will add about 45 minutes to a traveler's journey.

Evacuations: The Lake Humphreys and 4UR areas on the north side of the Weminuche Wilderness, approximately 6 miles south of Wagon Wheel Gap. The Metroz Lake area is also under evacuation notice.
Pre-Evacuation: The following areas along U.S. 160 – Park Creek, Wolf Creek Ranch, Fun Valley, Elk Creek, Masonic Park, Trout Creek and River Bend.
