Conditions are expected to be dry with warm to hot temps throughout this week. Thunderheads are expected to develop each afternoon but little rain is expected anywhere but up in the high country. Gusty outflow winds are expected each afternoon.
A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Wednesday. We'll update as information develops.
Fuels are headed into extreme levels meaning that live and dead flora (grass, brush and trees) are losing moisture fast and will ignite with very small sparks.
Please be careful in the area and don't let a spark get away from you.
There are no significant fires in #LaPlataCo at this time but several fires in neighboring counties are creating smoke for us so be wary of new smoke or flames emanating from our own backyard.
