THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO NOON MDT WEDNESDAY.
* TIMING...LIGHT SNOW WILL START AT 3PM BECOMING HEAVIER AFTER
MIDNIGHT AND BEYOND.
* SNOW ACCUMULATION...2 TO 5 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
POSSIBLE.
* SNOW LEVEL...NEAR 9000 FEET DROPPING TO MOUNTAIN BASES AFTER
MIDNIGHT.
* WINDS...NORTHERN PORTIONS OF SAN JUANS WILL SEE NORTHERLY WINDS
AT 5 TO 10 MPH AND SOUTHERN PORTIONS WILL SEE SOUTHERLY WINDS
AT 5 TO 10 MPH.
* VISIBILITY...LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES IN HEAVIER SNOWFALL.
* IMPACTS...SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY AFTER MIDNIGHT CAUSING DRIVING
DIFFICULTIES ESPECIALLY OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES ALONG US 550.
EXPECT SNOW AND ICE PACKED ROADS OVERNIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY
