..WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 3 AM MDT WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 3 AM MDT WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN NEAR DAYBREAK TUESDAY MORNING AND
CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* SNOW LEVEL...STARTING NEAR 9000 FEET DROPPING TO 6500 FEET.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...5 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED.

* WINDS...SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS
REACHING 40 MPH AT TIMES. WINDS WILL WEAKEN IN THE AFTERNOON.

* VISIBILITY...LESS THAN 1/4 MILE AT TIMES DUE TO BLOWING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...SNOW AND ICE PACKED ROADS ARE ANTICIPATED. GUSTY WINDS
WITH OCCASIONAL WHITE-OUT CONDITIONS DUE TO BLOWING SNOW ARE
POSSIBLE WITH HIGHER ELEVATIONS SEEING THE STRONGEST WINDS.
HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE FOR ALL MOUNTAIN
PASSES IN THE WARNED AREA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
